They sure call it the Windy City for a reason! We braved the magnificent Lake Michigan wind and the bitter cold to capture these family photos. We met at beautiful Milton Lee Olive Park, a best kept secret right next to Navy Pier for some awesome scenery and a great view of the city skyline. This family was a bunch of troopers for battling the elements, but I sure hope they felt it was worth it, love the smiles on the little guys!!
"Don't you think daisies are the friendliest flower?" I do think that daisies are one of the friendliest flowers, but my personal favorite is the dahlia flower. But let's talk about the daisies. I have an amazing patch of daisies on my property. They are just starting to pop up from the barely thawed ground. I swear it's still thawing after this tough winter! During the golden hour (one of the BEST times to capture photos), when that sun is starting to sink on the horizon, it filters through the trees and creates an amazing backdrop, spilling perfect light over my daisy patch. I don't know if patch is technically the right term, but I don't know what else to call it! My daisies will be in bloom during June, and they make the perfect background for a family or children's photo session. They don't last long, toward the end of June, they already start to die and there isn't anything else that grows so abundantly to replace them in my garden. Don't you think they would help to make such happy photos??
P.S. The first person to correctly identify the movie the top quote is from will receive a free 8 x 10 when a photo session is scheduled between now and June 30th - leave a comment with your answer!
This was my second photo session with this family, they visited me last year for their fall family photos. Who knew that our little antique fire truck would be such a hit with the two girls! It was not originally part of my plan for the session but we pulled it out to get them smiling and it did the trick, the girls just loved it! After we did some photos on my property, we headed over to Stocks barn, part of the Kettle Moraine State Park. We lucked out, it rained earlier that morning and for the rest of the day, it just poured on and off, we squeezed in this session just in time!
I absolutely loved photographing this family! They posed themselves so nicely I hardly had to do any work, it was almost as if they do this all the time!
Several months ago our church had a silent auction fundraiser and I offered up a portrait session. I have to admit, my auction item was a hot commodity, there were plenty of bidders! I could not have been more happy that the Breach family put in the final bid, we had so much fun having them out to the property to do photos, and I think they had fun too!
They even had their Aunt N with them who joined in some of the photos. These kiddos and their aunt were like best buds, it was very sweet to see, I loved watching them together, lot's of love in this family! Don't you agree that this family collectively has the most beautiful eyes you've seen!
Thanks guys for being so fun to work with, hope we get to do it again in the future!
